Spring Break...

I love spring break. Every year we think of fun things to do... This year will be a little different because of two babies so not as much planned but we will still make it fun! I have two weeks to plan because they are in a different school but it's still fun!
This week we will be:
Going to Walmart to buy the new movie that my kids are excited for Tangled! We love that movie and let everyone pick out some yummy treats! Then we will go to the library on a day that has story time so the big kids can have fun going and choosing books while the littler kids can enjoy an hour of story time.  Then we will have a movie night with the yummy treats. My kids want friends over this week too, so we will do that too. So that's what we are doing for the first week of Spring Break.

Morn with those that morn

Sunday was so touching. The Sacrament meeting, because of all the horrible rumors that are flying around (media, ect.) about the man in our ward that was shot at week ago, the talks were perfect and the leaders instead of sweeping it all under the rug, they addressed it and it was perfect! The lesson in Sunday school was on Matthew Chapter 13 which was perfect again.  Relief Society was so touching and wonderful. The lesson was on Charity and it was so neat. The teacher had on display pictures of some of the sisters in our ward of their hands, touching scriptures, giving an I love you sign, doing pottery, playing the piano, ect. and then the lesson was wonderful. She talked about how her niece took her two month old baby to the ER because she was running a 104 temp. and was worried about her, but no family was around to help because she was in a different state and her husband was off to training in a different state. She was nursing and had been sitting in the ER for seven hours without food or water and was talking to her mom on the phone crying because she felt faint, and there was just way too many people in the ER for anyone to help. When she got off the phone and was still crying, this women with spiky hair and looked gothic came up to her and brought her a water bottle and said, "I heard you on the phone talking and thought that you might need this, " She thanked the women and then was in shock. She said she felt like she needed to repent because she had judge this family while she watched them come into the ER and thought that they were an interesting bunch. She said that she likened this story to the good Samaritan who no one liked and was looked down upon, she said that she thought this lady is the good Samaritan of our day.
I had the opportunity to sit with my visiting teacher who just lost her husband a week ago and was so happy along with everyone else that she was there at church. I was so happy that I got to sit, give her a hug and talk to her a bit. When the lesson was over, during the closing song she was holding her baby when she started to cry, I felt the need to do something so I offered to hold her baby for her. Then because it was so touching, I started crying too and then I heard lots of other women crying, and then I got an overwhelming feeling of the spirit whisper to my heart that this is what it means to morn with those that morn. It was truly a touching moment that I will never forget.

Look what I caught him doing...

With his disabilities it has been hard predicting when to start potty training him. They put him on the potty at least once maybe more at preschool and lately I will just be walking by the bathroom and find him doing this, except he doesn't tell me he's doing this so it's always a surprise to see him. So I hurry and try to get his diaper off and then he's already gone, one of these days he will tell me he's on and try to catch him before he goes in his diaper, I hope! I think it's too cute that he's trying, way to go buddy!:)

We danced, did cartwheels, ect...

It was fun, we decided to kick up our heels and just have fun! We turned on some music and just danced the girls did cartwheels and the boys wrestled. It was fun just forgetting about everything and just having fun! We did that last night too, we get Netflix on the WII and we looked up the Cosby Show, do you remember that show? We were laughing so hard, the kids kept begging me to watch just one more and we ended up watching four episodes and we could have watched more but it was time for bed:( I forgot how wonderful that show really was, they take everyday simple things that happen in normal everyday lives and make it funny! It was a great reminder that we take life to serious sometimes:)

We made rolls, lots and lots of rolls!!

We made rolls for a family in our ward that just lost their husband and daddy. She is my visiting teachers husband. It was last Friday (a week ago) when he was at the walgreens by our house and was shot and killed. It has truly been a solemn week and it was really hard last Sunday when everyone was at church, lots of tears. He was the Youth's Sunday school teacher for a very large class, and he was our son's cub scout leader. It was hard, yesterday was the funeral, we didn't get to go but had lots of prayers for that family. He leaves behind a beautiful wife and five beautiful children and she just had her fifth baby two months ago. It has been sad but lucky for her she has family and most of them live near her. Because there was so much family me and my girls made over a hundred rolls and brought them over to them. Ever since we looked up Lion House rolls on utube we have been crazy about making them because they are so easy! I useto be the only one making the rolls in our house and now I just make the dough and let my girls just have at it and they love trying new and fun ways of making different kinds of rolls.

Snow Shoes

He spent hours, days, weeks on these aren't they neat? Or should I say Bro. Sorenson spent hours, days, weeks helping the boys make, fixing mistakes, calming frustrations ect. He's an amazing leader and we are so grateful for all his efforts in helping the boys. Then the day arrived when they got to use them! You know that your boy had a great time when all he wants to do when he gets home is Sleep!:) Thanks  to all the great leaders in our ward.

Our pinki Cheek girl is 3 Months Old!

I know it's a lot of pictures but I just can't help myself, we just love her!! She's got the prettiest complextion, it's pink so we call her pinki as her nick name, she especially looks cutest when she's wearing pink, it reflects off her skin and she really looks like she has pink cheeks. She's beginning to smile and coo at you and we just love it. Her eyes look at you like she's looking right into your soul.  It seems as if she's been with us forever :)

Mongolian Beef

Today Jen Weaver came over and taught me how to make this wonderful dish that is my husbands favorite dish at P.F. Changs it is their Mongolian Beef!! We love this dish every time we go there we have this dish and it tastes just like it, I am so excited!! Thanks Jen you are an amazing cook!:)

Also today I was talking with Sloane about getting prepared, and we both agreed that getting prepared spiritually is the most important and we talked about paying close attention to the Prophet and his counsel to us. As I was sitting and pondering on this I got the distinct impressing that I needed to go back five years and read all the talks that were given just by the prophet at general conf. So I did and as I did it was so neat to read the talks by Pres. Gordon B. Hinkely and how his wise words to us are really for our time and it penetrated my soul and I felt the spirit so strong. I was so excited and filled with the spirit that I felt that we as a family need this. So Sloane and I decided to take each talk (there are six for each year) and implement them into our Family Home Evenings, like I will read a talk highlight the things that touch me the most and then talk about it in my lesson and our kids and Sloane will also do the same. So now we have lessons for the next year or so which will be directly from the prophet, I am so EXCITED!!

Buddy and Treat night...

Sloane My wonderful daddy of this crazy crew has decided to make it a tradition for as long as he can, to  take one of the older kids out just for a quick sweet treat and to just sit and talk and he's calling it (he came up with this) Buddy and treat night. It's not expensive, or elaborate or super fancy, they just go out one child at a time for a sweet snack. He plans on taking the oldest four maybe EB boy to once a month, he's too busy on Sunday's to do PPI's and he thought that this would be more fun for the kids too. I just love this man of mine!
A side note:
I got to escape from my four wall corners to get out in the fresh air and sunshine (yes it was super sunny today) Which made me super happy! I got to go out to lunch with one of my favorite people, Julia Brown and we went to her suggested place to eat which was the Flat Bread Pizza Co. it was super yummy and I can't wait to take Sloane. She also suggested a place around the corner from this pizza place for great burgers, so I am going to take Sloane there for sure. But we had the greatest time just talking and laughing it was too fun just getting out. I enjoy talking with her, she's a hoot and so upbeat, fun and I admire her. Thanks honey for watchin' the kids!;)

Fun FHE Making Waffle Cones!

Don't worry dad did share with the boy!
You can't have a "Normal" FHE without one of these, a fit thrower and yes he's taking a time out because he was being really naughty, but he did snap out of it eventually.

We love our new waffle cone maker! I got it on Clearance for only $10 at Macy's. Some of them I over cooked because it only takes a minute or less to cook and I got distracted sometimes, but they still got eaten and everyone agreed that they were way better than the ones you could buy at the store and it smelled so good cooking too! We made waffle bowls too and they loved that too. The kids had a great idea that in the summertime they could set up a waffle cone and ice cream booth since it doesn't take very long and very little batter to make them. Dip them in Chocolate ect., oh the possibilities!!
The best recipe that we used was: 1egg and 1egg white, 1/4 tsp. of salt beat together. Then add 1/2 cup Sugar, and 2/3 cup of flour, 2T of butter, mix together until smooth. Drop 3T of batter in the middle of the griddle and cook for a minute or less. Enjoy!

I Changed the kid's names to keep their identity.

Oldest to Youngest kids:
Hawaiian Princess, Dash, Shell, Violet, EB boy, JR, Danny Boy, little sissy, baby D
