More than just a hair cut.......

Today was a bad and great day! I woke up this morning ornery, I don't remember having any bad dreams but for some reason I was just plain mad at everyone and yet I had absolutely no reason to be. I was however piling in my brain about how my life has been hard this past year and I was blaming everyone for that. I had a hair appt. at four, I almost cancelled it because I was still ornery, so from the time I woke up this morning to the time I left for my hair appt. which was at 4:00pm I was in a bad mood. I was in such a bad mood that before I left my daughter was crying because she said that she hasn't seen me happy all day long, I almost felt bad but I was still too angry to feel totally bad. Wow this was not like me?  So I went to the hair appt. and I got the referral to go to this lady because I was told that she was good and I was also told as a side note that she has had a near death experience, I love hearing about those but I wasn't even planning on talking about that with her, mostly because I was in a bad mood and the fact that this would be the first time that we met, she's not going to share that experience with a total stranger! Anyways, I went and she was very nice and super friendly and she had a great way of making conversation. So she found out how many children I had and she was impressed, she didn't think I was old enough, yep I am!  Then she asked their names and for some reason she asked how I named little sissy, I told her that I had a dream and was told her name and how to spell it and she was thrilled and then she told me that it's important that you follow those dreams and impressions. She seemed very spiritual and I was very intrigued by her. Then we were talking and all of a sudden it came out of my lips, the fact that I heard that she has had a near death experience, I don't know where that came from because I was sure she was not going to share that with me, she was a little reluctant at first but then when she got going she didn't stop she told me everything. She even stopped once in a while and was crying while telling me and said that she couldn't believe that she was sharing this with me since she just met me, but she still kept on going and at this point I was crying (I am sure people thought that we were lunatics) but we didn't care, it was if time stopped and no one was around, but there were people around, a lot of people.  She told me that she was in Sunvalley with her daughter and she started to get sick, she then continued to get sicker and sicker. She then told her daughter to take her back home and to take her to the emergency room. She knew the doctor and he took a cat scan of her and found out that her colon had ruptured. She was really sick by this point and they did emergency surgery. While she was in the hospital room she could feel Satan and his dark angels all around her really strong, she said that she even had a nightmare that to this day she remembers. I told her that even in the scriptures it says from Joseph Smith that you have to go through the darkness in oder to see the light. She remembers dying and an angel taking her down the hall to the elevator, they got into the elevator and the door closed and then it opened again and she was in a white room with everyone dressed in white, kinda like you would see as if you where going to the temple. A man approached her and asked her for her temple recommend, she was horrified because she didn't at that time have a current temple recommend and so she told the man that she didn't he looked like anyone would look if you came to the temple without a temple recommend. She then was told that she had a choice, to go back and raise her children and be with her family or stay here. She really wanted to go back, she told the man frantically that she had children to raise and her husband, she couldn't leave them, she needed to go back. The man then told her that she could, however she had to promise that if she went back that she would have to live her life for herself and not for her children or her husband or anyone else. She thought about that and her life was basically dedicated to her children and her husband, this was going to be a hard thing for her to do. He then told her by her example of her own change will help her family want to change. She told me that it had changed her whole perspective on how we need to worry about our own salvation and not everyone else's. She told me that when she went back she did what she was told to do and her boys went on missions and her husband changed for the better however she did tell me that right now she has two daughters who are not active in the church but that she's not worried about it and that her life is great and that she is grateful for everything in her life even the trials and challenges and she shared a few of her challenges but she still has a great attitude and goes to the temple often and has not gone without her temple recommend since her experience. Oh man is she spiritual and I told her with tears in my eyes that I needed this, that this has helped me so much and that this was just more than a hair cut that she gave me, she gave me my hope back and strength to endure my trials and faith that Heavenly Father is ever mindful of us and our needs. I came home and appologized for my behavior and how ornery I was all day long. When my sweet husband came home he brought me some flowers too. Then we heard about some friends in our ward who's brother in law was killed in an automobile accident today and it was the father of two boys that came last summer to stay with our friends (their cousins) and our older kids knew them really well, they played night games often with them. All this has made me think that our life could be over in an instant or a loved one's life could be over in an instant and how will this effect me, am I living my life for everyone else or am I living it for me and my own salvation?

I love it!

So a friend of mine in the ward who I swap baby sittting with to volunteer at EB's kindergarten class, heard that I have been having problems with swelling and she was worried about me. She told me that she was bringing me dinner tonight and I couldn't say no. I thought that was sweet! She has three little kids and they are adorable and she's a cute young mom. I loved it when she came over and said that she feels for me because it must be hard to cook for ten people every night (seeing how I don't love to cook, she's probably right). Then she said I don't mean to be rude but it's expensive too! Yes, I was loving every word she said, no offense taken at all, as a matter of fact It was so nice to have someone walk in my shoes for one evening. She was worried that there wouldn't be enough food, she did great, chicken parmesian, baked potatoes and fruit. It was so nice not to have to cook for one night! I would take dinners while I am pregnant more than when I just come home from the hospital from having the baby, because I am tired!

I love being a mom to all of these kids, I do, I really do!

I realize when I was a young mom I dreamed of leaving the house often to be around other people and I was never satisfied just being at home. I worked all my teenage years and it was a hard adjustment for me and I unfortunately yelled a lot, I have realized that yelling is a huge form of selfishness, because while I am yelling I am thinking of all of my selfish feeling and wanting more me time, again never satisfied! But I have since then toned it down and really love being just at home and being with my kids, I learn tons from them! The only time I really feel the amount of kids is when we are all sick then it seems like I need five more of myself to help take care of everyones needs. We have had our fair share, ok more than our fair share of sicknesses since we have moved. We have had, just to name a few, HA, the stomach flu three times (that's a record for us), Croup, Hand foot and mouth disease, pneumonia, viral infections, Chicken Pox, Coughs, Ect. The scriptures say that all trials are for our benefit and learning and I well...I can say that I have learned tons more about my self and how much I can really handle. Sloane has been working a ton, mostly it's because it's the first year of a newer job so the first year is always the busiest. So I have had to be put in positions that I don't like, like laying the hammer down with my teenagers (I usually leave that up to Sloane just because I am too soft and give in easy and they know that and take advantage) so I've become tougher and knowing that I can stay calm and still deal with an annoying teenager who chooses to be defiant. I love that we were inspired to move here even though I was fighting it because I was comfortable where I was living in Boise, this has been the best move we have ever made and we've had confirmations on that, like when Sloane was set apart to work in the Young mens the bishop told him in the blessing that we are here for a reason, that was exciting to hear that. I love that we are having another baby, I know it's hard to imaging nine, but the Lord doesn't give us anything we can't handle and then when we've had just about enough of that trial, it lets up a little and then the blessings pour in.  I try to be happy every day and just enjoy the little things in my life, even if a little someone makes me crazy because I have cleaned up his messes all day long. I wake up every day to cute chubby and some not so chubby little faces that want a kiss and a hug from mommy, oh I just love that! I wake up to dirty diapers but while changing them enjoy seeing their little faces bright from just waking up and saying cute things. I was partly sleeping on the couch the other day tired while the kids watched a movie and the whole time they would want to sit and snuggle, give kisses, pat me to let me know that they are there to give me a smile, and so on. I love that feeling of being their mommy and knowing what their needs are even though they are all different. I love being inspired to know what to say to my older children right at the moment they need to hear it. I love that my children love being with each other (most of the time). I love that they are affectionate to each other and to Sloane and I.  I love watching them grow spiritually and knowing that we had some kind of influence for the good that way. I love mothers intuition, it's a great gift from god! I love that my children trust me and want my opinion on things. I love hearing especially from my older children that I am the best mommy. I love to hear from other parents that they love my kids and love that they are hard workers and love to serve. I love that they strive to want to learn the gospel and ask questions when we have scripture study. I love that they try to explain what the scriptures are trying to say, even if they don't really have a clue, I think it's great that they even try! I love that my husband works with me as a team! I love that we have date nights every weekend. I love that he wants to go to the temple with me as often as I do. I love that we think alike but yet different. I love that we both love and enjoy being with our children. I love pillow talks with my husband. I love his great ideas that he comes up with. I love watching him fly kites, wrestle every Sunday afternoon with our kids, and just play with our kids. I love it that we try to serve each other even if it's not easy, like he gets up with the kids even though he went to bed late with me but he figures he's more of a morning person than me, takes care of the kids when he gets home from work when he sees that I am done and tired even though he's worked hard all day.  I iron his shirts (I hate ironing), I will wash his work clothes seperately (that's hard because I have hundereds of loads to do every day), cut his hair even if I am tired, make his protein shakes and sometimes load up all the kids to take it to his work for him. There's more but that's good for now. We have learned that complaining that you have more than your spouse to do is a selfish thing and so it's better to serve and help each other out and do little things for each other and it makes for a better marriage. Really just like the scriptures say men are that they might have joy, and if I remember the little things every day that make me feel true joy then I can and will enjoy ever day and stay spiritually centered and remember that the troubles of the world or even at home are temperal and not eternal and that we can have joy everyday if we stay spiritually centered. I know that this is long but since this is the only time I write in any kind of journal, I wanted to remember all of my thoughts and feelings.

Our boy is 6 years old!!

Some of his siblings decided to buy EB boy a present and they were so excited to give them to him!

He got his new bike that he's been wanting!

It was a perfect day to go fly kites, the boys had a buzzlightyear kite so we went to the park to fly it!

We celebrated it on Sunday and he had a blast! He was so excited to blow out the candles that as soon as we started singing he blew them out, so we had to start over this time telling him to wait until we atleast finished the song. We sung to him in the morning when we all did our tradition of bringing the birthday boy or girl breakfast in bed, I don't want my kids missing out on trying different cereal's because I only buy the cheapest kind so on their birthday they get to pick any cereal they want and because we have such a big family that whenever I make cake or something they never get to lick the beaters so I decided that on their birthday when I'm making their birthday cake they can lick the beaters then and then that way everyone gets a chance to do that. I remember licking the beaters when I was a kid but there was only two children in my family, me and my brother 11 1/2 years apart.
What I love about my EB boy:
1. He's loving and kind
2. He's always willing to help and clean his room and vacuum it even!
3. He's so gentle and good to his younger siblings.
4. He's already reading really good for his age.
5. He's always reminding mommy or daddy to say prayers at night with him and his brothers.
6. He's always so happy and smily, he's sick if he's not.
We love you our birthday boy!

Spoiled by her daddy!

Sloane had to work in Salt Lake this last weekend. Hawaiian Princess got to go to Salt Lake with her daddy, just the two of them! He took her to the Cheesecake factory for dinner and then to the new City Creek mall where she was in heaven! All those shoes she says! And two floors of wonderfulness of her favorite store Forever 21. She said that the Valet parking was so awesome too," you drive up and these handsome and cute boys are waiting for you to take your car, you can't get any better than that!" she says. Her dad let her walk all over the mall and look at any store she wanted, she said that it was such a blast and she even bought a really cute dress in Forever 21 that looks almost too cute on her. Then he took her to a late night showing of Hunger Games. SPOILED! Oh well I guess it makes for fun and wonderful memories with just you and your daddy!

Kahuhu baby #9 is a...........

Girl!! I know God must have a sense of humor because all I could do is laugh because this happens to me every time! I have a dream about a certain sex of the baby and then we find out that it's the opposite sex of the dream that I had! He must have a sense of humor! I love him for that, it keeps our life never dull! She wasn't in a good position to get a great view, she kept curling up in a ball and he was trying to get her to reposition herself but he got a glimps nonetheless and he looked twice (for me) to make sure it wasn't a boy and it wasn't, I am happy and excited that little sissy is getting a little sissy and someone to love on.

City Creek Mall

It looks blank but just push play!
The Acapella group Eclipse
A couple of weeks ago Sloane took me on a weekend get away! He had to still work, poor thing, I felt bad for him, he works so hard for our family and I just love him for that! He told me that he wanted to take me away so that I/ we can survive him being gone a lot because of his busy season and I am so glad because I was feeling down and out needing to get away with all the sicknesses in our home this year especially me being pregnant I alone have had the stomach flu this year twice, yuck! I seem to get almost what everyone was getting and It was in the worst part of pregnancy, so it was a much needed get away, I love you honey thank you for this! We didn't know this but we happened to go to Salt Lake City the same day that the City Creek Mall had it's grand opening! We went to Cheesecake Factory right there at the mall, that was fun! Then we went to the mall for a little while until it closed. Then we went back to the hotel and lounged and fell asleep and woke up at midnight to go watch Hunger Games. Then we got up and drove to East Salt Lake were Sloane had to work and I went to American Fork to pick up our Massive tent that can fit the whole neighborhood(not really but it's huge). Then I went and spent the rest of the afternoon with my best friend from High School, Brigitte. Then picked up Sloane and went back to the mall for a little while then went to P.F. Changs for dinner and then went back to the hotel and went to sleep. Sloane woke up early and his business partner came and picked him up and I slept in and then woke up late(which I never get to do, but felt good!) Got dressed and went to the mall for three hours. I did the Valet parking because it's such a great deal...$5. for three hours and with my pregnant brain I don't have to remember or not remember where I parked in that massive underground parking lot, totally worth it! Then went to Bountiful and visited with my aunt's and uncles until it was time to go pick up Sloane and had dinner and of course whenever we are in Bountiful, Sloane wants a concrete (that's the name of the custard Ice cream that he loves) it's a hole in the wall place but the burgers are awesome and the custard Ice cream is amazing!! Then Sunday went to church with my aunt and uncle and it was an amazing fast and testimony meeting (cried through the whole thing) then went back and had dinner with my cousin and his wife who just got sealed in the temple in Dec. which is so exciting and Aunt Nee nee and Uncle Richard. Speaking of my uncle Richard, he's been working on writing a book for the past ten years. He says he was compelled to write it and now it's finally finished and he gave a copy to his neighbor who happens to work for Deseret book as a transcript reader, Ardeth Kapp Do you remember her? Former General Young Women Pres. and author of 14 Deseret books. Well anyways, she read his book and LOVED it! So You may be seeing his book out on the shelf soon!
Had a great time!

Poxy Girl!

I honestly don't know how she got this! Chicken Pox, seriously! I usually have the girls watch her so I can go shopping so she didn't get it there and we didn't go to church last Sunday because of Conference so how in the world did she get this? I don't know, it's still a mystery!! Poor thing has it in her hair but the worst place that she has it is in her bottom area, that would be the worst and so uncomfortable. Her nose is not red from crying, she has two on the end of her nose, even. I feel so bad for her. Caladryl lotion is our friend for this, it has calamine plus itch reliever and that seems to be helping. Oh, I hate to see her suffer like this!

My Angelic boy!

Don't let that angelic face fool you! No he really is wonderful and cute except when he's making his mother tired from cleaning up all his messes, I know I should make him do it but I'm too tired to do that too! He loves water, the other day he got a cup and filled up his cup multiple times and just poured it all over my kitchen floor, then proceeded to swim in it, then when he was bored with that he decided to pour it all over his little table that he eats at, in the kitchen and lap it up like a dog from his mouth. He makes me laugh and crazy tired all at the same time!!

Spring Break

It might look blank but just push the play button!

For Spring Break I took the little kids to the dinosaur museum and to Mcdonalds, and my favorite Great Harvest Bread Co. and had rainbow bread and a cookie! While the four olders kids went with Sloane and His buisness partners to Las Vegas! They had a great time, they still had to work during the day but that was easy hanging out at the high school handing out stuff and Lane paid them for their help! Then they would go pig out on fast food and go back to Lanes house and go swimming and hot tubbing and BBQing in 80 degree weather!

Chicken Bow tie pasta Recipe

I got this recipe from Copycat.com and I recently looked it up again and
they've removed it, probably because it's an exact replica of the Johnny Corino's Bowtie Festival recipe, Sooo Good!
This is a doubled recipe:
3 TBL. of Butter
2 tsp. chopped or minced garlic
1/4 cup purple onion
Half of the package of bacon (we like bacon)
2 roma tomatoes (we like tomatoes)
2 large chicken breasts thinly sliced
One pint of Heavy Whipping cream (yes it has to be heavy)
2 jars of Alfredo sauce
1/2 cup of Asiago Cheese
1/4 to a 1/2 of tsp. pepper (depends on how much pepper you like)
1tsp. of garlic salt (I like the lawry's with parsley)
Two boxes of the regular sized bowtie noodles

In a large skillet put the butter, garlic, garlic salt, pepper, onions, bacon, chicken, cook until onions and chicken are done. Add heavy cream and Asiago cheese and chopped tomatoes. Boil the sauce stirring constantly, don't let it burn. Once cream and cheese has thickened and reduced in size then add the alfredo sauce, mix well. You can toss with the noodles ( I don't, I keep my sauce and noodles seperate and just put the sauce on top of the noodles, I like it better that way. I make it with fresh steamed broccoli on the side with garlic bread, Yummy! My family is picky when it comes to chicken but they all love this and eat it all!!
**Note: You can Get the Asiago cheese in the deli section At Walmart in the middle where they have those specialty cheeses. I usually will great it fine with a fine greater and then put it in a freezer zip loc baggy and use it for the next time I make it!

Enjoy!!

I Changed the kid's names to keep their identity.

Oldest to Youngest kids:
Hawaiian Princess, Dash, Shell, Violet, EB boy, JR, Danny Boy, little sissy, baby D
