I am starting early this year because I have to start collecting...Pringles cans...and eat all the chips in them, which won't be a problem since my kids and I LOVE them! I have some formula cans that I kept from when I was collecting them for when I was the activity day leader in my last ward and we made these cute manicure sets for Mother's day. So this year I decided that baking is not what I really enjoy...not with babies, maybe when they grow up I will enjoy it more. Two years ago I bought those really big tins of Butter cookies (My FAVORITE!) at Costco and their at Sams Club too and I had the kids dip half of the cookies in white chocolate and then put sprinkles on them and then placed them on wax paper and put them in the freezer, they were a hit, everyone loved them and they were so cute too! I bought these really cute sprinkles at Target in the dollar section they have christmas ones every year, we put them in little clear celophane bags and tied them with a cute bow but they were more flimsy and I didn't like that so this year we are going to use formula cans and pringles cans for it. Wrap the cans in cute wrapping paper and then I got skinnier christmas ribbon and tie them up and it turns out cute. That will be for Home teaching families/visiting teaching and other families in the ward. I saw that they have right now at Sams Club some Gerridelli's candy chocolate dipping bars, YUMMY! My goal with this is to have my children be involved as much as possible.
For Neighbor gifts...I went to Farmington, UT and got Stephen's Hot Chocolate (MY FAVORITE) at the Stephen's wearhouse there where they package up the hot chocolate and I bought their damaged cans for only $1.50 a can when they cost at the store $4.99. I will put them in Wide mouth Mason jars and fill them up most of the way and then put marsh mellows in with it and then buy those plastic white screw on lids, I've seen them at Walmart and then we will dip as many spoons as their are in each family in chocolate and wrap them up on the side of the jar with a cute christmas ribbon. I am so excited and most importantly I am excited that the kids will get to help!
I am starting to make other gifts too but I can't say what they are, shhhhh...it's a seceret!!:) I will reveal those after Christmas! Yay!!
