Joy!

The lesson today in Relief Society was wonderful. The topic was about the Signs of the Last days. With everything going on in the world, it has been a bit worrisome as these signs are evident everywhere. As I was pondering the lesson, one line that was said at the beginning stuck out. It said, "Even though it will be a great terrible time, there is also great joy to be had." That struck me like never before! Even though there will be great trials and great evil, there will also be great JOY! I love that! So the lesson went on and I felt the spirit as we were talking about the signs. She broke us up into groups with different categories and we all had a topic. When they came to famines ect. she read the scripture on the great hail that would destroy the crops, then she mentioned that right now there is storms and hail storms in the south that is causing Peanut crops to be destroyed and the price of peanut butter is going up. That struck me like lightning!! In July, I was at Sam's club shopping and was talking with my mom on the phone and I said, "Mom, I keep getting this weird feeling to get Peanut butter, but I don't know why and I feel  it every time I come to this store."
She said,"Then you should follow your feeling, even if it is a little weird."
Then at the same time we both said "I should/you should get TEN!"
We both laughed because we said the exact same number! Well that was a good enough sign to me that I should follow.
To me, even though peanut butter is insignificant compared to wars, ect. that was a witness today to me. Hearing that those crops were destroyed helped prove that Personal revelation is glorious and wonderful. It brings Joy to the soul, because Peanut Butter is a staple in my house and we would all be very sad without it! To me, it was as if the spirit was saying to me, "See the Lord does want you to have Joy amongst turbulent times if we seek for the promptings of the spirit!"
 The other thing that brought great Joy was that, the prompting to buy peanut butter came in July, three months ago, He warns us in advance of the things that we need to do. When all seems like there is darkness shrouding around us, let us not get caught up in  the darkness and do what the prophet has told us. And that is to: LOOK UP!
There is Joy in everything if we look for it.
