Sloane and I waiting for it to start, don't you just love my groovy glasses, yes I am blind!
Me, Sloane and the Hildebrandt's went to the first Christmas Concert at the new Conference center at BYU-Idaho. It's featuring singer was a Baritone Broadway singer Brian Stokes Mitchell. It was wonderful, and he had a wonderful voice! We have never heard of him before but I guess he's famous in NY, he's featured in the NY times for being the next leading broadway singer. It was inspiring, he talked about the song Little Drummer Boy and he said how all of us should be poor in spirit and bring our best gifts to the Savior, then he sang the song and it was so touching and inspiring and made my really think about if "I" on a daily basis bring my best gifts to the savior. Then at the end he sang in his opera voice "Joy to the World" and both Sloane and I were teary eyed, it was powerful. It was a fun night with fun friends that we enjoy! Before the concert we went out for my personal favorite, Mexican food, Yummy!

The Conference center has a neat story to it and it goes like this. A Group of people from all the different BYU's got together and were talking with President Hinckely and wanted to build mini conference center's on their campusa's. BYU-Idaho came up with a plan to build one that just only fit the needs of the collage, planning on fitting maybe 6,000 people or so and then the other BYU's like Hawaii and Provo put in their plans also and then Hinckely came back with a plan that shocked them all. He said that he would only physilitate the one BYU and it would be the one in Idaho and they would use some of the tithing for that building and we would make it to fit 15, 000 people. The other BYU's had to come up with the funds for their mini conference centers by other means. The main shock here is that the conference center holds bigger and better than they originally planned. The one in Utah holds 22,000 people, so not mini at all! They said that it would be used in times of need as a place of refuge. That gave Sloane and I goose bumps and made us teary eyed when we heard that, I love this church they are so inspired and it goes to show that the Lord truly cares and loves each and every one of his spirit children.
