ER for baby

On the fourteenth of September our little baby started getting a small fever like, 99.6 or so. On the fifteenth we kept watching it and it kept going up and down, but the night of the fifteenth we decided to take him to the ER. This was super hard for me as a mom, I have never experienced this with any of our other newborns so this was super scary and hard to even want to go in, knowing what they would all do to him.  Our doctor said that newborns should not have even a small fever because it means something not good is going on. By the time we took him in his fever had stayed at 101 to 102. The ER nurse said that the best news would be that if he just had a urinary track infection, so I was hoping it was just that and nothing else. So they did blood work and took a sample of his urine, and yes I was a mess, Sloane had to deal with it all while I walked down the lonely hall in tears thinking of all the horrible poking and prodding that they would have to do to my newborn baby. Then as the tests came back we did find out that he just had a urinary track infection but......because of his age and not being very old wanted to rule out possible Menangitis and do a spinal tap on my baby. That's when Sloane got upset and he was a trooper up to this point and then I saw some tears and he got a little protective. So they did the spinal tap and then me and baby had to stay in the hospital for 48 hours to wait for the test results, they came out negative, phew!! We are so happy and blessed to have a great doctor and people in our ward who cared and checked up on us and for good friends and for my visiting teachers who came and cheered me up and for the men who were going around giving the sacrament to anyone who wanted it in the hospital. He's doing better now and growing good and we feel so blessed.
